Take Action: Maine is blazing the trail to safer chemicals and healthy families...
You can take action on this alert by reading the information below and following the
directions at the bottom.

Let's Tell our Senators to Help Congress Join Maine on the Path to Safer Chemicals and Healthy Families!
Maine's Kid-Safe Product Act is a landmark piece of legislation that will phase out the worst chemicals from our everyday products, protecting the health of kids and families. Now, the Alliance for a Clean and Healthy Maine has collected signed postcards from hundreds of Mainers like you - asking our Senators to take Maine's good environmental health legislation to Washington, DC.

Take the Lead on Federal Chemical Policy Reform - Help get U.S. on the right path!
Maine has blazed a trail toward safe products free of dangerous chemicals. In 2008, Maine passed its Kid-Safe Products Act by a nearly unanimous bipartisan vote. But state action alone will not be enough to fully protect our health and environment.
The federal law that should protect our families from dangerous chemicals in everyday products - the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) - is badly broken.
Now Maine needs our nation to join us on the path to safer products. Senator Frank Lautenberg will soon introduce legislation to reform TSCA.
This important public health legislation will:
- Immediately initiate action on chemicals we know are very dangerous; - Require basic health and safety information from chemical manufacturers; - Protect all people, especially the most vulnerable groups, using the best science; - Safeguard Maine's progress under any federal TSCA reform.
I urge you to continue Maine's leadership for safer chemicals and healthy families by becoming a co-sponsor of Senator Lautenberg's TSCA reform bill.
